With all of our crazy cart builds this custom bike build has been slow and steady (heavy on the slow ) But it is really starting to come together now. Take a look at some of the cool progress we have made!
With the stretched tank we needed to modify the factory seat pan. Here we cut and then laid down some masking tape.
Next we fit up the factory seat cushion and added and shaped the foam.
Once we were happy with the initial foam fitting we were ready to fiberglass the seat pan.
Here is the seat pan trimmed
Fits like a glove.
Next we focused on fitting up the front fender
We wanted a different look then every other bagger out there. So with the front fender we designed and machined our own front mount.
Then we machined a rear backing plate
Here is the custom mount all fitted up.
Once we were happy with fitment we trimmed the custom fender sides.
Check out how cool this looks, now you can see the spokes through the fender mount.
Because we couldn’t find any levers that we liked, we decided to modify the factory ones
There we go, much better!
The brake pedal was much to bulky
So we gave it a bit of a cut
Then drilled it to match the levers and the shifter!
Here is everything all mocked up, it’s starting to really come together!
After being happy with mock up it was time to tear it down!
Here it is all stripped down.
We had a bit of paint peeling on the frame near the exhaust. So we sanded it all down, prepped it, primed it…
and painted it, it turned out perfect!
Next we are on to running some additional wiring for the stereo and some other goodies!
This custom build is coming along and it is going to be one cool ride, we still have lots to get down but it’s moving right along!
Have you seen part 4 of this build?
