It has been a while since we posted on the Street glide build, we have been swamped building golf carts, but we have still squeezed in sometime here and there to work on this cool scoot!
Some of our parts back from powder
With the fork tubes back from powder it was time to rebuild them
The internals looked great!
Everything looks brand new inside
Here we had to install the travel limiters to ensure we didn’t crash our triple trees into the fender
All back together and ready for oil
Time to fill up the forks
On with the powder coated cans
Next were the fork tubes
We installed the front wheel and test fitted the fender
The bike has a mean low look
We pulled the tank off to get ready to fit up the stretched shrouds
The tank is off…
and we have now prepped it for the adhesive
Test fitting the shrouds
Everything looks good from this angle
Once we were happy with the fit we applied the two part adhesive and then used the handymans secrete weapon
While the shrouds set we took to stripping the gauges out of the inner fairing, it went quick with our little helper!
This one first she pointed out
All stripped and ready to be prepped and painted
After fitting the rear fender to the pipes we weren’t happy with the look of the cut fender
so we made some simple molds so that we could apply some fiberglass
Here is the fender with the new fiberglass work
This is just rough and is now ready for finishing
Before we finish it we did another test fit, this really finishes the look of the fender
With the shrouds set we pulled off the duct tape
It is really starting to come together now
A final shot of how everything is flowing together nicely
We are having a blast building this machine and we can’t wait to get to work on it some more.
If you haven’t had a chance to look at part 3 have a look now!
