Hey Guys and Gals! We have a very cool project on the go right now. This project has been in the making for over 1 1/2 yrs.
As I am sure you are all aware, SC Carts has always specialized in electric carts, we feel that electric carts are the best option for 95% of our customers, however in some cases, where there is no electricity available, a gas vehicle is needed.
We have come up with the perfect solution, a hybrid cart. This cart is tailored to the customer who really wants to use their cart for long range outdoor activities, remote work locations, hunting etc…
With the ability to run in electric (silent) mode you can enjoy what nature has to offer, or sneak up on what your hunting. Once you are done for the day or are heading back to camp, you can activate the hybrid system and the gas system will take over.
Also once back at camp, you are able to use your cart as a generator with the hybrid system you can run your entire campsite!
OK OK, lets get on with it!
This Precedent hybrid get this SC Carts full inspection, just like all of our carts!
Because this cart is really meant for off road use and back country adventures we wanted to have the stopping power to match the upgrades that are going to be happening with this cart.
Here is another picture of this awesome hydraulic brake system this shows you the caliper as well.
We went with a freshly release wheel from one of our suppliers. This is a 12″ rim with a 22″ all terrain tire.
Another shot of the Club Car hydraulic brake system tucked into the custom rims.
How bout this for an aggressive Club Car Precedent stance.
This shows you the difference a 6″ lift kit makes.
With the front 6″ lift installed we moved on to the rear of this hybrid electric buggy.
With the SC Carts complete inspection done we installed the rear wheels. What a cool looking cart already.
Along with the 6″ lift kit we added HD springs so that this cart can handle anything we throw at it.
With the Precedent sitting on it’s new lift kit, we moved onto routing the hydraulic brake cylinder. We drilled a hole through the pedal assembly location to allow for proper routing.
Once we routed the assembly through the floor pan, we re used the plug that we drilled out to patch the hole. This will keep everything tidy for when we are cruising through the deep water.
Here you can see the pedal group re installed with the new hydraulic master cylinder tucked in place.
Now for the exciting part! We blocked up the hybrid motor and positioned it in place.
You can see it is a tight squeeze within to give it clearance on the Club Car electric motor, but we got it.
With some proper measurements taken, we built the hybrid motor mount.
Next we installed the rubber mounts and then the motor mount plate and finally the hybrid motor itself.
After extensive planning and measuring of the Precedent you can see that this package is fitting very well. Notice how nice the hybrid brain fit next to the motor.
It was very important to us that we did not compromise any of the original looks of the Precedent, but it was equally as important that we be able to check the oil, change the spark plug and the air filter without having to disassemble the entire cart. We met our requirements as you can see the factory Precedent underbody drops right in place without any modifications.
We hope you enjoyed this weeks post and that you are as excited about this as we are. We look forward to more progress next week and showing you what we have in store for this amazing cart.
