We have made some more progress on the stretches, but this also kind of a unique post as well.
In this post we are not only working on the new stretches but also our new roof design.
We have started with the stretch however this new roof will be available on stock length carts as well.
So lets get to showing you our tube frame roof progress!
Our initial design work was done on Solidworks 3D design software so that we could really get an idea of what we wanted. Here we started laying out the first tube for looks.
After a bit of playing around we felt that with the design of the Precedent we needed a bit of a break in the vertical support tube.
Yes that looks much better!
We duplicated it on both sides ensuring that it would look proper on the Club Car.
With the front pieces following our computer designed profile it was time to work on our roof line for this stretched Precedent.
Again the design matched our computer design so we added our cross members in place to stiffen everything up nicely!
Being extremely happy with the design we proceeded to build a jig that would work for both the stock length Club Car Precedent and the stretch Club Car Precedent.
Here you can see we got all the pieces onto on jig.
Here is the Club Car Precedent stretch roof frame!
Here’s another angle showing the cooling lines for our electric buggy roof!
With the frame work complete we have moved onto the roof panel design along with the windshield design, these will take a bit of time to complete, but will be awesome when done!
Check back next week to the progress on this build and the advancement of SC Carts new roof design!
